This glazed ham recipe is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The trick is to slow cook the ham to infuse it with as much flavour as possible and then finish it off in the air fryer or oven to get that sticky glazed outside.

Full list of ingredients are in the description.

Ingredients

For the slow cooker :

1 onion

1/2 carrot

2 celery stalks

1 large orange

Bouquet garni

6 peppercorns

1pt stock

1 carton of apple juice

Gammon approx 1.5kg

For the sticky glaze :

Fresh whole cloves

3tbsp runny honey

2tbsp Dijon mustard

1tbsp soft brown sugar

Method

Roughly chop the carrot, onion and celery. Make up your stock. Slice the orange and lay in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Place your gammon on top of the orange slices and add the chopped vegetables, bouquet garni, peppercorns, stock and apple juice.

Cook on high for approx 3 hours. To check if your ham is cooked test the the internal temp with a meat thermometer. Make sure it is above 85C.

Remove the ham and take off the skin, leaving a layer of fat.

Cut the fat into a cross cross pattern and push whole cloves into each section.

Make up your glaze by mixing the sugar, honey and mustard together and drizzle over your ham.

Air fry at 200C for 7-12 mins until the fat is golden and sticky. During this time baste the ham with more glaze twice. (You can do do this step in an oven if you don’t have an air fryer)

Allow to cool before carving and enjoy!
