Air Fryer Franks Red Hot Chicken

Franks Red Hot STEAM CRISP Chicken
There's nothing better than a piece of chicken, on the bone slathered in Franks hot sauce. This easy to make recipe take less than 30 mins start to finish and tastes just perfect.
We’ve used the Ninja Foodi smart lid as it has the Combi-Steam function. You could also use the Ninja Speedi or a normal air fryer (for the air fryer just omit the water).
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
Chicken wings or drumsticks approx 500g
Salt
Black Pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Franks hot wing sauce (you can use any hot sauce here)
Garnish:
Sour cream
Spring onions
Fresh Chilli
Method
Place 125 ml water into your Ninja Foodi smartlid pot
In a bowl coat the chicken in a little oil and season well with salt and black pepper.
Cover the wings in hot sauce (just enough to coat them).
Add your wings to the cook and crisp basket and select COMBI STEAM then STEAM CRISP.
Cook for 15 mins at 230C (you may beed to adapt this time depending on how large your wings are).
After 15 mins test to see if your chicken is cooked by removing the largest one and opening up close to the bone or if you have thermometer they need to reach 75C.
Finally turn over and baste with more hot sauce. Switch to AIR FRY mode for 2-5 mins to further brown the wings at the end.
Remove wings and toss in more hot sauce and serve with sour cream sliced red chillis and spring onion tops.
