Air Fryer Calzone

Chunky Chorizo Calzone


We used the Ninja Dual Air fryer but you can use any air fryer, here are our favourites.





 

Ingredients


For the dough:


400g plain flour

7g yeast

1 tsp caster sugar

1 tsp sea salt

2 tbsp olive oil

250ml lukewarm water (approx 36C)


For the filling:

1 ball mozzarella

70g chorizo chopped into chunks

10 olives diced

1/2 red onions finely chopped

1 tsp oregano

tomato puree (to spread)

salt and pepper to season


Method


To make your dough mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a bowl then make a well in the centre and add the olive oil and warm water. Mix well to form a ball of dough.


Knead for a few minutes to combine the ingredients then set aside while you prepare your filling.


Slice the chorizo and air fry for 5 mins until golden.


Cut up your mozzarella, onions and olives and add to a bowl with salt and pepper and the oregano. Mix to combine.


Once the chorizo is cooked add to the other filling ingredients and combine. Set to one side.


Roll out the dough and cut into circles ( I used a side plate).


Spread each circle with tomato puree then add the filling to one side of the circle, fold the dough over and seal at the edges.


Air fry for 7 mins (check as you go) then brush with melted butter before serving.
